Born and raised on the Canadian prairies, Aaron Leighton attended the Alberta College of Art and Design in Calgary, graduating with distinction in 1995. Over the 18 years he worked as a freelance illustrator, his work appeared in books, magazines, advertising, animation and apps, and has been recognized by both American Illustration and Applied Arts. He was also the creative director on an interactive cartoon project, "The Zimmer Twins", which won an International Interactive Emmy Award in 2007. Additionally, he has published a book, "Spirit City Toronto" with Koyama Press, contributes as a writer for UPPERCASE magazine, is one-third of the Trio Magnus art collective, and his work has been exhibited globally in various group shows and published in multiple books.
Aaron currently lives in Toronto and works as the lead illustrator and art director at Sago Mini, making innovative, award-winning toys and apps for kids. He spends his free time wrestling with a black cat and talking to trees.
